Little evidence of economic benefits

There are many claims made about the value of new infrastructure in boosting economic performance, but very little evidence to support this.  A review of scheme evaluations by the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth shows that there are actually very few high quality evaluations and what there is is quite mixed in the outcomes.
